Overview

St Mellion International Hotel, Golf and Country Club is probably the leading golfing venue in the West of England. It comprises two courses, TheOldCourse and the NicklausCourse. The OldCourse opened in 1976 and hosted major golfing events in its early years. Following its success, the NicklausCourse was constructed and opened in 1988 and has since become regarded as one of the finest courses in Europe. It's definitely not a course for the beginner or the faint-hearted with even the top professionals considering it highly challenging.

Redevelopment

Starting in April 2008 the entire venue beings a major £100 Million redevelopment. The hotel is being demolished and replaced with a newer International class hotel. In addition to the hotel accommodation, a further 270 lodges are scheduled to be built before 2010. Both courses will also see significant improvements; the OldCourse being extended and the NicklausCourse receiving numerous improvements.
