I moved into the village of St Mellion, (and indeed Cornwall) on the 5th July 2006. Lou and I had been seeing each other for a couple of years before taking the plunge and moving in together. We looked at quite a few houses before the OldPostOffice but one or the other of us expressed doubts about them all. When we visited the Old Post Office and were shown around by the then owners, the Furbers, we both knew at once that it was the house we had been looking for. Since then times have been a little hard for us, neither having held a mortgage before. Despite this we've had a good year and the village has made us feel very welcome.
I'm also the originator and maintainer of this Wiki, having set it up at the request of PhillipLamb (the village vicar) who wanted to advertise the annual village CherryFeast. This seemed like a good solution to his requirement whilst also allowing the other villagers to generate some content.
